Sunday December 23, 2018 Calendar-:   Fourth Sunday of Advent Year C Colour of Vestment:  Purple Saint of the day-:  "SAINT JOHN OF KANTY, Priest". FIRST READING Taken from-:   “From you shall come forth one who is to be ruler in Israel.” A reading from the Book of the Prophet Micah (Micah 5 :2-5a) Thus says the LORD!  You, O Bethlehem  Ephrathah,  who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days. Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who has labour pains has brought forth; then the rest of his brethren shall return to the sons of Israel. And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth. Prayer for catholic priests

Ever loving God and father of us all, you gave to your church-the priesthood of your son, our Lord Jesus Christ. With the grace of the Holy Spirit and the sacrament of Holy orders, you provided priests for your people.

We pray for all our priests, clergies,  those who celebrates the sacraments and teach us the word of God, for those who are young and for those who are old, for those who serve in both difficult and trying circumstances, for those who are faithful and those who are faltering, and for those who have died.

We entrust all our priests, clergies, to the sacred heart of Jesus, and the Immaculate heart of Mary, that they may persevere with fidelity to you and to the church.
With Saint John Vianney, patron of priests, and clergies, we pray that our prayers may never fail to lead us to you and that they themselves through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour, may make heaven after this earthly sojourn (journey).

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
