The 6 commandments of the Catholic Church

The Catholic Church as we all know,

The 6 commandments of the Catholic Church:

  1) Keep the Sundays and holy days of obligation holy, by hearing mass and resting from servile works:

This is simply clear, in the creation of the world, God used six days to create the whole universe and he rested on the seventh day. He (God), has mapped out that seventh day, as our resting day. We toured from mondays to Saturday (in some countries fridays), and expected us to keep that seventh day holy. For according to Jesuss' teachings about the sabbath day he said "what man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it? How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore, it is lawful to do well on the sabbath day". (Matthew 12:11-12)

   2) Keep the days of fasting and abstinence appointed by the Catholic Church :

The days of fasting here is seen during lent (where Catholic faithful commemorate the passion of Christ, but his arrest, crucifixion and death)(Matthew27:50). Also the days the church mapped out as the period of abstinence are good Friday( the day Christ gave up his ghost on the cross, Catholic faithful abstine themselves from eating meat or come in contact with blood, also it is a day of fasting and prayer to Easter sunday; the day Christ conquered death and resurrected).(Matthew28:2-7).

  3) Go to confession at least once a year:

It is expected of us as Christians to confess our sins to God, and also a representative of God on earth (the priest, Bishops or Pope), for if you say that you have no sin in you, you are making him a lier, and his word is not in you. For so many have sinned and has fallen short of the glory of God.

   4) Receive the blessed sacrament at least once a year, and that of Easter or thereabouts:

The Eucharist, is the true body and blood Jesus Christ, really presented on the alter, which is offered to God for both the living and the dead. Jesus, also made it clear to us in (Matthew26:26-29).

   5) Contribute to the support of our pastors:

The Apostles of Jesus, supported him during his ministries, up to his death hours. Your pastors/priest is a representative of Christ and God on earth, if you assist them on earth, you are building your heavenly mansions.

   6) Not to marry within certain degrees of kindred, nor solemnise marriage at forbidden times
